Kayimai
A new boat acquired in February 2017, used for family cruising in addition to club races and regattas. Finished a respectable seventh in the PONANT Sydney Noumea Yacht Race, taking just over five days and 21 hours to complete the 1064-nautical-mile journey. The yacht is a high-performance cruiser with all the creature comforts of home. “It has a modern hull design, good sail plan and has a reasonable turn of speed,” says Aldis. “The crew are all there to enjoy the experience, and we are all getting along really well. I think that’s something that will work to our advantage when the going gets tough and the days get long.”
