Doing her second Rolex Sydney Hobart in 2024, Poulpito MLS placed fourth in Division 3 and second in the Sydney 38 Division. In her first Hobart in 2022, the New Caledonian boat placed third in the Sydney 38 Division of five boats. This will be Sydney Hobart number three for Poulpito and owner, David Treguier, who finished eighth overall in the 2025 Groupama Race after finishing third overall in the 2022 Groupama Around New Caledonia race.
He won the latter from sistership, Eye Candy, also entered for the 80th Hobart. Poulpito will have solid competition with the other Sydney 38s in the fleet and other yachts of similar size and capability. She is the former X Cubed and arrived in New Caledonia in 2011, winning the Groupama Race. In 2019, Treguier bought the yacht, renaming and refitting her.
