Stormy Petrel was designed by Sparkman & Stephens, the famous US naval architects, to the international One Ton rule and Syd Fischer sailed her to victory in the 1971 Cup series in New Zealand. Joining owner Kevin O’Shea will be John Maclurcan, who sailed aboard Stormy Petrel in many Sydney Hobart Yacht Races and other ocean races when the late Tony Pearson, a past Commodore of the CYCA, owned the yacht.
