Marchioness has had an impressive season this year with a line honours win in the Sydney Mooloolaba Race and 3rd over the line in the Sydney Gold Coast race, one of three yachts to break the previous race record. Purpose-built for the 1993 Cape Town to Rio Race, the owners made major modifications, including a new keel and single rudder, before the 1997 Hobart race which saw them place forth across the line. Marchioness suffered rig damage.
