Former America's Cup crewman Peter Nicholson normally sails out of the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club but as a member also of the Southport Yacht Club will be racing under that burgee in the Queensland Southern Cross Cup team. Nicholson has cranked up this much-travelled former Melbourne sloop, with wins in the Pittwater to Coffs Harbour race and the 1987 Club Marine Challenge.
