As Swan Premium III, this Farr 44 was a member of the Australian team which finished an excellent third in the 1987 Admiral’s Cup in England. She sailed brilliantly in the inshore races with Iain Murray at the helm, but did not fare so well in the two longer races to finish a creditable 13th overall in individual standings. Since returning to Australia, Madeline’s Daughter has been in good form and will have Iain Murray, along with his America’s Cup lieutenant Peter Gilmour, aboard for the Southern Cross.
