Profile
Quetzal is a Peter Cole Nantucket 31 built of cold moulded cedar, and plywood in 1978. In 1978 and 1979 Quetzal was the star half-tonner in Sydney and achieved 12th overall in the 1979 Hobart. She again competed in 1984, only to suffer the same fate as most others. She is a dated design but is undoubtedly a very seaworthy yacht. It is very difficult for half-tonner to do well in the Hobart, and the crew, lacking experience in this race, is not expected to better her 1979 placing.
