Built by Swarbricks of Perth in 1975, Pimpernel is yet another S&S 34, a design which takes well to heavy weather, but this one will need more than heavy weather if she is to steal the bacon for this event. A regular starter with the CYCA offshore fleet, she has failed to turn in any late convincing performances, coming 35th in the '79 Montague Island Race and having retired from the Bird Island Race at Bradley's Head.
