This Alan Blackburne design will be skippered by Jim Hardy, one of Australia's best-known helmsmen who has skippered America's Cup challenges and who represented in the Admirals Cup team of 1977. Nyamba has been modified to improve her speed, she sailed to Hawaii to represent her country in the Pan Am series in 1978 and in the same year she was winner of the Sydney Brisbane Race.
