The sole Japanese entry for this year Furiabo, which sails out of Ichimonji Yacht Club of Osaka. She is a Peterson design built in Japan and launched in September 1978. Her racing has been mostly in home waters and in the Okinawa Tokyo Race, but little is known here of her performance. Furiabo is making the 5,000 mile journey to Sydney under sail, which is an achievement in itself.
