A consistently good performer since her launching in 1971 Meltemi is always a threat in long ocean races despite the presence of more modern IOR designs. Still into top racing condition, she won perhaps the most unusual trophy for an Australian yacht, the 1973 Aegean Rally in the Mediterranean.
