Nevenka brings retirements to five

There has been a fifth retirement in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht race, the New Zealand yacht Nevenka.

She retired at 8.35 pm last night off Schouten Island due to a lack of wind.

She is making for Hobart under motor via the Denison Canal.

The others to have retired are:
• Conergy - rudder & radio problems
• Icefire - rig damage
• Sirromet Life Style Wine -  rig damage
• Star Dean-Willcocks – rig problems

With the five retirements and 76 finishers, it means there are four yachts of the 85 starters still at sea: Isabella, Polaris of Belmont, Berrimilla and Gilliwa
