Boxing Day, 26 December, before the race commences at 1pm, will be a particularly busy day in the village, with food, drink and fun for the family… from 6am! There’s also the opportunity to get up close with the competing yachts before they head out to the start line at about 10am.

What dates and times is the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race – Sydney Village open? 

The Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race – Sydney Village is now open at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (1 New Beach Rd Darling Point), in the lead-up to the Village’s biggest day on Thursday 26 December, when the 2019 Rolex Sydney Hobart commences. The Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race – Sydney Village closes at 3pm of 26 December.

Is there a bar on site at the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race – Sydney Village and is it open on Boxing Day?

There is a bar at the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race – Sydney Village, plus the CYCA bars (located adjacent to the Village) are also open.

The Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race – Sydney Village bar is open from 10am on Boxing Day.

The bars inside the CYCA Clubhouse open at 7am – Café 44, however, is open from 6am.

Are there bathrooms at the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race – Sydney Village? 

Yes, there are bathrooms in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race – Sydney Village; they are located on the ground level in the John Messenger Building, adjacent to the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race – Sydney Village. Change tables are found in the disabled access bathrooms within the CYCA building.

I’ll be seeing-off family and/or friends early on Boxing Day. What time will the venue be open and what will be available?

The Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race – Sydney Village will be open from 6am on Boxing Day, with bacon-and-egg rolls, chorizo shakshuka, crepes, coffee and more available throughout the morning. Bathroom facilities including showers and change rooms will also be open

Yes, leashed pets are allowed on the outdoor, lower-deck area of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race – Sydney Village, and outside the Clubhouse. This is accessed by the side gate.

No, due to the large number of competitors in the 2019 Rolex Sydney Hobart, the marina is full and unless prior arrangements have been made no additional boat-based access will be available or facilitated.

The Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race – Sydney Village is located on the hardstand of the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia – 1 New Beach Rd, Darling Point. The Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race – Sydney Village is just down the road from Edgecliff train station. Yes, there is Wi-Fi at the CYCA. Charging stations are on site in the Sydney Hobart Bar – please ask CYCA reception for further information.

I would like to ride my bike to the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race – Sydney Village – is there bike storage at the venue? 

Yes, there are bike racks available for use. Bike racks are located outside CYCA lobby near New Beach Rd.
