The latest from the Rolex Sydney Hobart
Here's the latest from the Rolex Sydney Hobart fleet at 0600hrs on 27 December.
- The four super maxis are leading the way in the line-honours tussle, with little separating each at this stage. Comanche, however, is slightly ahead, with Wild Oats XI, Black Jack and InfoTrack hot on her heels.
- Ichi Ban has started her Tattersall Cup defence in strong fashion, currently sitting atop the IRC rankings, although has Chutzpah, Privateer, Patrice and Winning Appliances closely following.
- A fourth retirement overnight, with M3 Team Hungary, skippered by Aron 'Roni' Ormandlaki retiring due to a dismasting. The Hungarian crew are currently in Ulladulla Harbour. With strong northerlies expected today, the crew will wait until tomorrow to motor back to Sydney. All are fine on board, just shattered at having to retire.
- Scallywag and Zen have now returned to port, following their respective retirements. Patriot is on her way to port, also heading to Ulladulla.
