Obsession

Obsession is a standard Sydney 38 , which is in peak condition and primed for this year’s Rolex Sydney Hobart.
Crewed by a syndicate of experienced Russian Sailors from St Petersburg  they are excited about the challenge of sailing  in Australian waters. 

The Skipper is Nikita Brilliantov who recently sailed across the Atlantic and Skippers an X412 in Europe. He is heading up the team of his Russian mates that he sails with regularly around Europe and America. They will be joined on their trip by local sailor Callum Cecil to give them the local spin on the race and the Sydney 38.

They have many European races under their belts including the infamous Rolex Fastnet race. They are relishing the challenge that the Rolex Sydney Hobart is renowned for and are looking forward to taking Obsession south in the Mt Everest of ocean races.

Since the boat’s launch in 2000 Obsession has successfully competed many offshore races including three Rolex Sydney Hobart’s, four Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Races and two Gosford Lord Howe Island Races.
