Lahana

Lahana

Lahana is a fixed keel water ballast yacht that was built in 2003 in NZ and designed by Brett Bakewell-White. She previously raced under the name Konica Minolta and Zana, and is now owned by Peter Millard and his brother in law John Honan. Lahana underwent modifications aimed at making the yacht perform to the best of her abilities under her IRC rating.

Both Peter & John have been competing in all the offshore passage races up and down the east coast including the CYCA’s Blue water Pointscore Series, with the boat taking line honours in the Bird Island Race in September 2009.

In last year’s Rolex Sydney Hobart she finished eighth across the line; and followed up with a third across the line in the Audi Sydney Offshore Newcastle Yacht Race in March this year. In August, she claimed line honours and a new race record of 27hrs 11 mins and 22 second in the Club Marine Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Island Yacht Race, beating Wild Oats X by a mere 22 seconds.
