Audi Centre Melbourne

Audi Centre Melbourne, was built in 2007 and is a Corby 49, based at the Sandringham Yacht Club and was raced previously under the name Flirt. Owner Chris Dare launched her in January 2008. She commenced her ocean racing with this year’s Audi Sydney Gold Coast Race, followed by a strong performance in Meridien Marinas Airlie Beach Race Week (finishing 4th in IRC Racing Division) and Audi Hamilton Island Race Week. Other results have included a 2nd in Audi Top of the Bay Regatta; and 1st (line honours and IRC) in Queenscliff to Apollo Bay race.

This is an upgraded version of the previous Flirt, which was very successful under IRC over the past two years. After a very steep learning curve the new Audi Centre Melbourne has began to show her potential and challenge the TP52's and Cookson 50s for IRC overall results. A new keel was fitted in June 2008 prior to the start of the Gold Coast race.
