Rich Montplaisir from Chicago, USA, has chartered Kioni from Getaway Sailing to fulfill a life long ambition of competing in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Race. Accompanying him is a team of experienced sailors from the Chicago area who either own their own boats or race with Rich on his Tripp 42 Fine Line.
The crew has put a lot of work into preparing for the 60th anniversary race, sailing together in the many local offshore Lakes Races. They are hoping that with an optimised handicap on this Farr designed First 47.7 they will be able to give the Aussies a run for their money!
